"I grew up in a small town in Kansas - population of 200. In the nearby town, there was a brewery. From an early age, I would drink. I never thought I would have this problem. 

 

In late 2000, I shot at an apartment complex. I spent eight years in prison for my actions. After that, I bounced in and out of jail for my addiction. 

 

In 2010, I realized I needed help. I faced up to my actions, and I am now a recovering alcoholic. It's not easy, but I'm doing it. I find it easier to have the support of friends, family, and the community."
